Transport Minister discusses bus fare hike, diesel price jump, and smart card distribution

Transport Minister Bairathi Suresh spoke about the bus ticket fare increase, stating that while the central government increased fares four times, the state had only revised them in 2025. He noted that the diesel price has risen by approximately 15 to 16 rupees per liter. A committee has been formed to study the situation of the four state transport corporations and submit a report, which is expected today or tomorrow. The final decision will be made after reviewing this report and obtaining the Chief Minister's approval in the cabinet meeting.
