High Court dismisses KIADB order, stating land acquisition is impossible without private owner consent

The High Court Division clarified that the government cannot forcibly acquire land against the wishes and without the consent of private landowners. The court dismissed the appeal filed by 'Brightsword Technologies' challenging the KIADB's action of abandoning the acquisition of an 8.5-acre plot intended for an IT park in Bengaluru's Kadubeesanahalli. The court noted that due to flaws in the original acquisition process and the development of residential villas on the disputed land, land acquisition is practically impossible at this stage.
