Varthur-Gunjur corridor congestion highlights gap between Bengaluru's rapid urbanization and infrastructure development

Urban planners and residents state that constant congestion on the Varthur-Gunjur corridor is due to urbanization happening faster than infrastructure. The SH-35 corridor now carries vehicles from large residential developments, schools, offices, and water tankers. Deepa Managooli, urban planner at the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), noted that the Varthur-Gunjur belt reflects a wider planning problem in Bengaluru.
