Successful complex surgery for a young man suffering from intestinal fluid leakage

Doctors at Apollo Hospital in Seshadripuram, Bengaluru, successfully performed a complex reconstructive gastrointestinal surgery on a 23-year-old man. The patient, who had been suffering from intestinal fluid leakage and severe malnutrition for months, had five pseudo-connections (fistulas) between the intestine and abdominal skin. During the surgery, doctors removed damaged parts of the small and large intestines and reconstructed the healthy sections. The hospital's Vice President, Uday Dawda, noted the need for experienced specialists and coordination in such complex cases.
