Three contractors fined ₹13.07 lakh for negligence in street light maintenance in Bengaluru

The BBMP imposed a total fine of ₹13,00,753 on three contractors for negligence in street light maintenance within the Bengaluru South City Corporation area. The inspection revealed that many street lights were not lit at night, and contractors' staff failed to conduct regular checks and repairs, based on public complaints logged in the help app from September 1 to 23. Specific fines were levied on Spectrum Tool Engineers Private Limited (₹9,56,955), Efiloom Private Limited (₹3,29,199), and Transglobal Power Limited (₹14,599). BBMP Commissioner K.N. Ramesh instructed immediate repair of damaged LED street lights and warned of stricter action if negligence continues.
