SIR: Not Democracy, Not Dictatorship: CM D.K. Shivakumar on misuse of political power

CM D.K. Shivakumar stated that while he has no objection to the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list, using SIR for political purposes is inappropriate. Speaking to the media near the Bangalore Palace grounds on Friday, he addressed questions regarding the Election Commission. He stated that every eligible person must receive the right to vote, as this is a democracy, not a dictatorship. He also mentioned that it is evident that the decision of the three-member committee of the Election Commission is not by majority vote.
