Point-based system for traffic violations discussed in Bengaluru; officials discuss enhancing enforcement

During a joint review meeting of the Home and Transport departments held in Bengaluru on September 30, officials discussed implementing a point-based system for traffic violations. The meeting, attended by Home Minister Priyank Kharge and Transport Minister Bhairavi Suresh, also covered integrating the Transport Department's Sarathi system with the Bengaluru Traffic Police's e-challan system. Discussions included increasing fines for various traffic violations, such as parking on pedestrian paths and driving against traffic in one-way roads.
