Customs imposes ₹89.91 crore fine on actress Ranya Rao in gold smuggling case

Customs has issued a fine of ₹89.91 crore to actress Ranya Rao in connection with a gold smuggling case. The Customs Joint Director Sandeep issued a 399-page order stating that Ranya Rao was actively involved in an international gold smuggling network. DRI officials arrested Ranya Rao after intense questioning, revealing details of the smuggling operation. The case involves the illegal transport of 113 kg of gold from Dubai to India between March 7, 2024, and February 2, 2025.
