IGP Shashi Kumar requests removal from Soujanya case SIT head position

Senior IPS officer IGP Shashi Kumar submitted a written request to the Director General of Police (DGP) M.A. Saleem, asking to be relieved from the head position of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the Soujanya Rape and Murder Case. Pro-Soujanya activists and family members had previously raised serious objections against IGP Shashi Kumar, who was leading the SIT. The article mentions that the government is considering appointing one of three senior IPS officers—Labhuram, Chetan Singh Rathod, or Dr. Boralingayya—to the head position.
