Health Minister urges central government to cap profit margins on life-saving drugs

Health Minister U.T. Khadar stated that profit margins on drugs for heart and kidney treatment should also be capped, similar to the 30% limit set for cancer treatment drugs. He mentioned that the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has taken steps to reduce the profit margin on cancer drugs. Khadar also noted that the government expects savings of approximately ₹ 2,500 crore annually from these measures.
