Financial Department advises CM on resource constraints for new projects

The Finance Department advised Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar that resources must be checked before announcing new projects. The department highlighted that funding new schemes will be difficult, citing the state's current cash crunch and the impact on salary payments for transport, irrigation, and electricity companies. The department stated that the state has utilized its full capacity for borrowing to meet the requirements of the 2026–27 budget.
