Data discrepancy revealed in Karnataka SIR data regarding voter deletions

Data shared by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise revealed a discrepancy of nearly 6,000 voters deleted from the rolls. The CEO's office data on September 25, 2026, stated that 61,130 Form-7 were received and processed for deletion. However, the draft rolls released on August 24, 2026, showed that election officials had received 67,307 Form-7 for deletion. The discrepancy in the number of Form-7 applicants was noted by election officials, who admitted to the error.
