Banjara community meeting turns into heated debate over reservation and development funds

A meeting held in Bengaluru, chaired by Minister for Textiles and Sugar Rudrappa Lamani, turned into a heated debate over the development of the Banjara community. BJP MLA Prabhu Chavhan and his supporters alleged that the state government has discriminated against the Banjara community regarding internal reservation. They also raised concerns about the allocation of ₹50 crore to the Banjara Development Corporation and demanded ₹500 crore based on population. Community leaders also demanded that membership should be granted to key persons from all Banjara villages and that the ₹10,000 membership fee be reduced.
