7.82 lakh notices pending disposal in Bengaluru; physical hearings scrapped

The Election Commission of India has scrapped physical hearings for 7,82,304 pending notices generated under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) for ‘no mapping’ and ‘anomalies’. As per the ECI direction issued on September 26, BLOs will visit homes to collect documents and upload them on the ECINet portal. The last date for disposal of claims/objections and notice phase is Oct 22. Among the pending notices, Bangalore Urban has 1,97,970, BBMP South has 1,27,233, BBMP Central has 1,11,651, BBMP north has 87,278, and Dakshina Kannada has 26,114.
