Valmiki community leaders boycott pre-celebration meeting, demand increase in reservation

Valmiki community leaders boycotted the pre-celebration meeting for Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti, which was organized by the Taluk Administration and Social Welfare Department on Monday. Leaders stated that they would not participate in the government-organized Valmiki Jayanti and would instead celebrate it at the Valmiki community hall. They demanded an increase of 7 percent in reservation for the Scheduled Caste community.
