Women protest before MLA demanding water supply amid tunnel construction

Local women expressed anger regarding the water scarcity in Thimmanahalli village, near Chikkanakyanahalli taluk, due to the excavation and tunnel construction for the Bhadra river basin project. They submitted a plea to MLA T.B. Jayachandra, demanding the restoration of water to the lake. During the event, the women stated that they are in a difficult situation where they have to pay ₹1,000 for tanker water, even after digging 1,000 feet, and demanded water for the village first.
