Why is the old bridge on Mysore Road neglected despite crores of funds in Bengaluru?

Despite crores of funds being spent on Bengaluru's development, the old bridge on Mysore Road near Bengaluru University has been neglected, causing traffic congestion. Residents allege that no government is concerned about the bridge because a main road for reputed apartments will pass through it. Officials stated that while the bridge is narrow and causes traffic issues, it is not included in the World Bank-funded projects. However, the Commissioner of West Zone stated that the bridge should have been built under the B-Smile project and that action for its widening or reconstruction would be taken in the list of works by the West Zone.
