Water supply disrupted by strike of water supply workers

Water supply has been disrupted due to a strike by water supply workers starting from September 21. The workers, who are serving under contract in the BBMP and other urban local bodies, have undertaken a march to Bengaluru, demanding special direct recruitment for all contract and other contract workers on the model of sanitation workers. The situation is causing difficulty for thousands of people, and the public is struggling for drinking water due to the lack of response from the government. Local corporator G.B. Jyotiganesh requested the workers to withdraw the strike, stating that the water supply disruption is causing water scarcity in the BBMP area.
