Viral video exposes poor footpath condition in Bengaluru; Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw questions civic responsibility

A video by a Canadian vlogger highlighting the poor condition of footpaths in Bengaluru has gone viral on social media. Following this, entrepreneur and founder of Biocon, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw questioned the city's civic infrastructure, government responsibility, and corporate negligence. The vlogger, Caleb Friesen, shared a video from 12th Main, Indiranagar, showing broken footpaths, garbage piles, open drain slabs, and dangerous potholes. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw questioned why such poor infrastructure exists in a global tech and start-up hub like Bengaluru. She also questioned why commercial establishments in Indiranagar should not maintain the footpaths outside their premises.
