Traffic fine for driving on footpaths to increase from ₹500 to ₹5,000

Bengaluru Traffic Minister Byrathi Suresh stated that the department plans to increase the fine for driving vehicles on footpaths from ₹500 to ₹5,000. He said the increase is part of efforts to curb traffic violations and prevent accidents. The minister stated that the change will happen, noting that vehicles on footpaths have endangered many lives and caused injuries.
