Three new varieties of crops unveiled at JKV Agricultural Fair in Bengaluru

Bengaluru Agricultural University is set to unveil three new crop varieties at the highly anticipated Agricultural Fair at JKV in Hebbal on the 13th. The new varieties are Ragi variety GPU 101, Musakina Jowar MAH 20-45, and seed pod variety KBJAA 18. According to the university, the Ragi variety GPU 101 is expected to be ready for harvest in 110 to 115 days, yielding 37 to 40 quintals per hectare, and providing 6.5 tons of fodder. The Musakina Jowar MAH 20-45 is expected to be ready for harvest in 125 to 130 days, yielding 110 to 115 quintals per hectare, and providing 18 to 20 tons of green fodder per acre.
