Study finds honking in Bengaluru is a habit, not a safety response

A 'No Honking Survey' by Beautiful Bharat found that only around 30% of the 259 respondents linked honking to danger alerts or highlighting incorrect driving. More than half attributed it to habitual behavior, including impatience, frustration, and aggressive driving. The survey also found that 97% of respondents agreed that excessive honking is a major problem in Bengaluru.
