State Government Forms SIT to Investigate Insurance Fraud Cases

The State Government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to register and quickly investigate fraudulent claims submitted to insurance companies. The SIT will be headed by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the City R&C (Crime and Technical Research Services) Police, Bengaluru. The team will operate under the supervision of the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Bengaluru Police. The SIT is declared a 'Police Station' under the Indian Citizen Safety Code, 2023, and has an investigation jurisdiction across the state.
