State Drug Administration discovers medicines sold at 52 times the real price in Bengaluru private hospitals

The State Drug Administration has discovered that medicines for inpatients are being sold in private hospitals in Bengaluru at 52 times the real purchase price. A list of 254 essential medicines with significant price discrepancies has been sent to the National Drug Price Authority. Officials have also written to the central government, urging the formation of a task force for price control and demanding strict action against illegal MRP collection and the inclusion of the real price in bills.
