Special inspection drive launched for sweet snacks due to festival season

The Food Safety Department launched a special inspection drive for sweet snacks due to the approaching festival season. Officials conducted checks at 80 sweet snack preparation and sales outlets across the state on Thursday. During this inspection, 125 food samples were collected and sent to government food laboratories for quality and safety standard checks. The department issued notices to 10 sweet snack preparation units and food entrepreneurs for lapses in hygiene, lack of medical certificates for staff, and failure to obtain FSSAI licenses.
