Bengaluru resident loses ₹7.66 lakh after falling for deepfake videos of Modi, Ambani, Sudha Murthy

A Bengaluru resident lost ₹7.66 lakh after believing deepfake videos featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sudha Murthy, and Mukesh Ambani. The victim, a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout, first viewed the videos on Facebook on July 10. Subsequently, the victim was contacted by five unknown numbers from +44 (UK code) and was persuaded to invest in forex trading. Between July 10 and July 22, the victim transferred approximately ₹7.6 lakh in multiple installments, believing the investment was profitable.
