Protest held in Bengaluru demanding filling of vacant library posts

The Karnataka State Library Association organized a protest at Swatantrya Udyan in Bengaluru on Wednesday to demand the filling of thousands of vacant library positions in government and private colleges and universities. Association President S.L. Kaḍadevaramaṇḍa stated that the association has submitted representations to the government, but no action has been taken. They demanded that 12,000 vacant positions across 5,400 PU colleges, 2,100 degree colleges, and 80 universities be filled, and that the service of 6,000 supervisors in Gram Panchayat libraries be made permanent.
