NREGA Workers Protest in Bengaluru Demand Service Security, Regularization

Contract workers of the Karnataka State NREGA (BBG) scheme held a protest at Swatantrya Udyan in Bengaluru on Friday. The workers demanded service security, mandatory monthly salary payment, and various other demands. Protestors highlighted that approximately 3,657 contract workers currently working under the BBG scheme are facing severe uncertainty. They also demanded that the government grant 30% reservation for Administrative Assistants in Taluk Panchayat FDA/SDA recruitment.
