National Lok Adalat disposes of 44.28 lakh cases, 287 couples reconcile

According to Anu Sivaraman, the Executive Director of the Karnataka Legal Services Authority and a senior High Court Judge, a total of 44,28,455 cases were disposed of in the third National Lok Adalat held on September 19. The adalat disposed of 1,230 matrimonial cases worth ₹4 crore and 4,160 motor vehicle accident cases worth ₹267 crore. Senior Judge R. Devaraj, also the Chairman of the High Court Legal Services Committee, noted that 287 couples reconciled their family disputes through mediation. The last Lok Adalat of the year will be held across the state on December 12.
