Minister Shivalingegowda accused of encouraging corruption over statement to Governor

A statement by Minister Shivalingegowda, made at a Sakaleshpura public service rally, stating that 'respectfully giving' money to officials is one's duty, has reached the Governor's office. Social worker Dinesh Kallahalli has filed a complaint with the Governor, alleging that the statement encourages corruption. Kallahalli has requested the Governor to consider the statement seriously under Article 14 of the Constitution and Sections 7, 8, and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
