Minister Rizwan Arshad states that most Muslims were former Dalit, addressing caste and social status in Bengaluru

Addressing a Valmiki Jayanti program at the Vidhana Soudha Banquet Hall in Bengaluru, Minister Rizwan Arshad stated that most Muslims were previously from the SC/ST community. He stated that the Muslim community and the SC/ST communities are not separate, and that all are from the same community. The minister urged Dalit community leaders to also speak up for the concerns of the Muslims.
