Mandatory EV Charging Stations in Large Apartments and Commercial Buildings

Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has released draft rules making it mandatory to install four-wheel electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in commercial buildings and apartments with a built-up area of 5,000 sq ft or over 250 kW sanctioned electricity load. These rules apply to large buildings constructed within the BBMP, Municipal Corporation, or city corporation limits. The draft rules stipulate that every large building or apartment must have a minimum of four EV charging stations and suitable parking facilities.
