Man dies, another seriously injured after light pole collapses near Ganesh immersion procession in Bengaluru

A man of Nepali origin died on Friday night after a light pole collapsed near a Ganesh immersion procession in Bengaluru. Another person was also seriously injured. The incident occurred in Sanjaynagar, Marathahalli, when people were watching the orchestra near the roadside. Local residents expressed strong anger against BESCOM and BBMP officials, stating that the collapse was due to negligence in not replacing the rusty and dangerous electric pole in a timely manner.
