Major Road in Basavanagere Temporarily Closed for 20 Days for Stormwater Drain Bridge Construction

Vehicle movement on the main road in Basavanagere, Bengaluru, has been temporarily prohibited for 20 days, starting October 10, 2026. The closure is due to construction work on a bridge for the Vibhutipura lake stormwater drain, located within the HIAL Airport Traffic Police Station jurisdiction. Due to the narrowness of the road and the use of heavy machinery, the road has been completely closed for the safety of commuters. Specific routes for heavy goods vehicles, BMTC buses, school buses, and light goods vehicles are temporarily restricted.
