Lalbagh to develop rainforest garden, featuring 250+ species from across India

The Horticulture Department is developing a rainforest-themed garden at Lalbagh, designed to replicate the experience of Western Ghats rainforests and the model of Singapore's Gardens by the Bay. The area, spanning 2.5 acres, will feature diverse plants grown under tree shade, utilizing a pre-existing rainwater canal for sustainable use. The garden will showcase over 250 rainforest species, sourced from Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, and Himachal Pradesh.
