KSRTC and BMTC bus fares to increase significantly, announced transport minister

Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh announced that KSRTC and BMTC bus fares will increase significantly, effective from midnight tonight. KSRTC has increased fares by up to 9 rupees for the first five stages in general buses and up to 18 rupees for ten stages in express buses. BMTC fares will increase by 4 rupees per stage, with a maximum increase of 12 rupees for long-distance travel.
