Kingpin of fake medicine racket arrested in Bengaluru, sent to SIT custody

The Karnataka Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested 35-year-old Prashanth Ranjan Babu, alleged kingpin of a fake drug network, at Kempegowda International Airport on Monday. He was produced before a court and remanded to SIT custody till October 7. The fake drug racket was unearthed by the Tavarekere police on August 18, 2026, when officials recovered spurious drugs and valuables worth around Rs 5 crore.
