Karnataka to train over 1,000 street vendors on food hygiene

Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader announced that Karnataka will launch a food-safety awareness and training drive for street-food vendors. The initiative, which was announced at an event organized by the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), will train more than 1,000 street-food vendors. The drive will cover hygiene during food preparation, safe handling of ingredients, and the reuse of cooking oil. Khader also mentioned that Karnataka plans to host a national-level Food Safety Officers and Commissioners Conclave in October.
