Karnataka government committed to sports development; identifying rural sports talents: CM D.K. Shivakumar

Speaking at a reception for players from all countries participating in the FIBA Women's Basketball League Asia–2026 tournament in a private hotel in Bengaluru, CM D.K. Shivakumar stated that selecting Bengaluru for the FIBA Basketball tournament is a matter of great joy. He noted that international athletes, especially those preparing for the Olympics, often choose Bengaluru for training due to its excellent climate. CM D.K. Shivakumar also announced that the Karnataka government has provided special reservation in government jobs for athletes who achieve success at national and international levels.
