Karnataka Government Announces ₹1 Crore Reward for Asian Games Gold Medal Winners

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced a total cash reward of ₹8 crore to seven out of eight Asian Games medal winners from the state. The government also increased the rewards for Asian Games gold, silver, and bronze medal winners to ₹1 crore, ₹75 lakh, and ₹50 lakh, respectively. Furthermore, the government provided direct recruitment opportunities in Group B positions for Asian and Commonwealth Games medal winners. A 2% reservation has also been implemented for these athletes in state government direct recruitments.
