International conference held in Bengaluru calls for recognizing Ambedkar as an academic and scholar

During an international conference titled 'Ambedkar in Contemporary India: Caste, Democracy and Social Transformation,' held in Bengaluru, Vivek Kumar, Dean of Social Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, stated that Ambedkar should be recognized by universities as a scholar and intellectual, rather than just a freedom fighter. The conference was organized in collaboration with the Department of Sociology and the B.R. Ambedkar Training, Research and Extension Centre of Bengaluru University.
