Authorities conducted a joint operation on illegal African Catfish farming units in Sulibelle and Giddappanahalli, destroying the ponds. Officials stated that the ponds were destroyed despite threats from fish farmers. The District Panchayat CEO has instructed the closure of three ponds spanning 2 to 3 guntas in Sulibelle and the closure of ponds in Giddappanahalli, along with filing an FIR against those engaged in farming.
