IISc Bengaluru study finds link between cardiovascular risk and cognitive health

A study by researchers at the Centre for Brain Research, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, found a link between cardiovascular risk and cognitive health. The study involved 3,609 healthy adults aged 45 and above and examined patterns of cognitive ageing. Experts noted that chronic vascular risks such as hypertension, diabetes, smoking, and heart disease can damage small blood vessels and disrupt brain networks.
