High Court quashes criminal case against Madhugiri Modi over Facebook post

The High Court quashed the criminal case against Atul Kumar Sabarwal, alias Madhugiri Modi, which faced charges for using the words 'Jihad' and 'Coffeeer' in a Facebook post. The single-judge bench, presided over by Justice V. Srishananda, passed the order on Friday. The court stated that there were no fundamental elements required to proceed with the criminal case when comparing the content of the post made by the accused with sections 295A and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code–1860.
