Health Department plans to collect used cooking oil from homes in a waste collection model

The Health Department is preparing a new plan to curb the misuse of used cooking oil. Under this scheme, staff will visit homes in a waste collection model to collect used cooking oil. The department plans to develop a mobile app and set a price for every liter of used cooking oil. Collected oil will be handed over to biofuel companies in cities like Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
