Government Institutions Encroached on 39 Lakes in Bengaluru; Govt Itself is Dangerous to Bengaluru Lakes

Data from the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) reveals that government institutions have encroached upon 39 lakes in Bengaluru. The encroachment has led to the construction of playgrounds, parks, and Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) on the lake land. The report notes that only 49 out of 183 lakes in the GBA area are free from encroachment.
