GBA to increase waste transportation capacity to 9,000 tonnes a day

The Greater Bengaluru Authority plans to increase waste transportation capacity to around 9,000 tonnes per day and introduce GPS tracking for all garbage-collection vehicles. Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda stated that the existing 27 Assembly constituency-based packages will be reorganized into 33 packages under the new system. He also noted that larger two- and three-tonne vehicles will be deployed, with around 4,500 vehicles expected to operate.
