FSSAI introduces new rules to curb fake paneer, banning use of the name for non-milk products

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has taken a significant step to curb the fake paneer market. The Authority has prepared draft rules to regulate the sale of analog paneer products that are not made from milk. These draft rules prohibit the use of the name 'Paneer' for any product that is not made from milk, restricting its use in labels and marketing. The public has 60 days to submit objections and suggestions regarding these draft rules.
