Former player Murali Karthik welcomes Bhuvneshwar Kumar's return to the national T20I team

Former player Murali Karthik welcomed the decision to include experienced fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the national T20I team. He stated that age should never be a barrier to selection if a player has good ability and does not burden the team on the field. Karthik mentioned that Bhuvneshwar was initially called back for the five-match T20I series starting in New Zealand from October 22. He was later included in the eleven-man squad for the fifth T20I match against West Indies in Bengaluru.
