Former DIG arrested in Bengaluru over alleged scam involving release of inmate

Parappa Nagarahara Jail authorities arrested former DIG Somashekhar in connection with a case where an inmate was allegedly released using a forged Supreme Court order. The investigation revealed that the accused, Srikanth, and DIG Somashekhar allegedly used the inmate's wife for sexual exploitation to facilitate the release of inmate A. Shankar. Furthermore, police found that DIG Somashekhar made a video call to Shankar's wife, during which she was allegedly told to undress.
